cant read trans stick...

i cant read it....have this truck 2 plus years,never changed fluid in trans.

anyway...i cant read dip stick....i put it in cleaned it comes up ok...over full mark. same in nutreal. unless mech filled it when transfer case oil was done.

fluid isnt RED neither....doesnt smell but not a clean red look......dull red.

worried trans might go bad if i do fluid change...but hasnt been done since ive owned it. wanted to drop pan,clean,change filter and fill.

so...with color of fluid aside .think its full,ok fluid level with that reading ???

i think i would do a filter and fluid change just to be safe... make sure to use mercon V fluid alot of shops use dexron/mercon then add a friction modifier IMO not as good

friction modifier?,like what?.....

i got 7 quarts of castro mercon v.....i was told i wouldnt use all. now gonna get filter.

think those $200 pans with fins and drain worth money? decent pan is easy $190.

plus....u do your filter yourself?i havent done trans filter in years.

i do my own filters and flushes. i bought a flush machine from harbor freght... the friction modifier is suppose to make dexron/mercon just like merconV im skeptical im not sure about trans pans im.sure they couldnt hurt

how many times u change your tranny fluid so far since owning truck?

ive heard 1 out of 10 go bad...maybe 2 after a fluid change.

havent changed gas filter as well in 2 yrs plus....eeek!!

on my expy i have changed filter and fluid once and have done it four times in my ford diesel pickup.... as for the fuel filter i mark it on the calender and do it every six months
