Center console reupholstered

Has anyone reupholstered they’re center console lid cover. Mine is starting to rip and get holes in it. I ordered a new cover for it today but i have to remove the old material and staple the new one on. Just curious if anyone has done this.

Did you use a regular staple gun. And what length staples did you use

I didn't use staples just spray adhesive. You unscrew the plastic peice underneath and then spray glue on both new vinyl and foam or just go right over the old like I did.
Mine was in pretty god shape to start I just wanted to change the color.

Just make sure you pull it tight and wait for the glue to set up. when you put the plastic peice back on it should hold everything tight
