Ever since I started using my heat I've noticed that the air smells dirty, like when you first turn on the heat in your house if you have forced hot air.

Does anyone know if there is there a way to clean heater core and the air path?

The only true way of cleaning them would be to remove the dash, heater core and ducting. If your going to all that trouble you might as well just change the core.

I'm curious about those products. Do they really kill the source or just knock off some and mask the odor.
My logic may be faulty but when a house has a mold problem you don't spray it away with rattle cans.

You could also try what "Bubba the Redneck" would do ----- pour some Fabreze down the defroster vents.

The ideal thing to do would be to brush and vacuum the air ducts and spray coil cleaner on the heater core to remove any dust and dirt build up, but, I'm not sure I want to go through that much trouble.
