When driving I have a cold spot on my left side of my drivers floor. The right side is plenty warm because of the vent being right by my foot. Does anyone else experience this cold area?

Have you had the door panel off for any work? Window regulator, speaker, power switches, etc.

I haven't but the previous owner could have, maybe I should check to see if the plastic is intact, is that where you were going?

Yeah. In some cars there's also a one way flap that lets air out but not in. Not sure of your expy's setup.

I took the door panel off and the foam was all intact, so I didn't see a place that wind was traveling through. It seems like most of the air enters in the bottom of the door in the middle?

sounds like the door seal isn't making full contact or the gasket isn't making full contact. Check the gaskets for any signs of damage or to see if they are seated fully

The weatherstrip on the door sill tends to get abused. I've seen them worn down pretty bad.

I thought there was another weatherstrip on the door that would keep the wind out, though.

I compared the drivers side door seal to the passenger side and it seems like the drivers side might be compressed a little more, but no obvious tears or damage.

Could it be a dual zone climate control thing? If not, then I'm stumped.

I noticed the same cold spot on my 01, I had my door panel off once to replace the drivers side mirror but I made sure the plastic was put back properly and I used tape to re secure it.

I think it's just a design flaw on the 97-01's because the space between the door and the door jamb is fairly big even with the weather-stripping properly in place.

It's as if the doors should have been fit tighter or bigger weather-stripping should have been used, this wouldn't be a problem and I'm sure most people wouldn't notice it if they live somewhere where it doesn't get very cold, but we have had a few days of -40°c with the wind chill and that's when I would feel a slight cold draft in that area.

Thankfully the heat works great in my truck to negate the issue.

It's definetely not a dual climate issue ,because I have single climate control for the driver/passenger heat, and unfortunately my left foot gets cold and my right foot gets hot with this condition. Like I said the cold spot is in the center of the door at the bottom and I have checked the door liner under the panel and its all intact and in good condition as well as the door seal. I took a quick look at the door to see if I could adjust it to close tighter but haven't done it yet.

wait until its dark outside and then take a flashlight and have someone inside shinning it down towards the door sill and see if you can see any light coming thru while you look on the outside
