I have a friend that just bought a 2004 expo from out west, and he lives in kansas. The compass in the cluster seems like it is in a wrong zone or something, and never seems correct. He dont have a owners manual, and his is different than my 2003, I just have to hold in the trip rod for 3 seconds and release, but that dont work on his, but he has the full message center as well... Any help from someone knowing how to do it would be appreciated. Thanks

I had to do a similar calibration on my 2002 about 2 years ago. I forget the exact steps, but I had to hold in 2 buttons for 15 seconds to put the overhead compass in configuration mode, then drive in circles for about a minute. Once it set itself, it was good to go.

There is a post here in the General Discussion at the top (Printable Owner's Manual) that will allow you to look at your owner's manual. The steps to program my 2002's compass were in my manual.
