Anyone out there know what is causing my compass to register the incorrect direction? Doesn't matter which direction I am headed, the readout is always something other than what it should be.

Don't be afraid of the calibration procedure, it's essentially just driving in relatively slow circles.

Thanks for the advice. I never knew that the calibration process existed. It worked just as the owner's manual said to do it. Voila! I have a working compass again.

Have said this many times

When all else fails read the directions

From the time you posted the problem which you had for some time it took less than 24 hrs to fix it.

I would bet that when you read the manual that it took no more than 10 minutes to read and then you followed the directions and drove in circles for less than 10 minutes and the problem was fixed

So for less than 30 minutes time you resolved the problem but how long did it take for you to finally read the manual and that was only because someone advised you to check the owners manual

Not trying to insult you as we all tend to think we are smarter than the manuals
