Hey guys, been a while. Have a few issues that I cannot figure out. Truck is ticking like crazy at idle, not so noticeable at higher rpm. Constantly getting p0300 random misfire code. Hesitates, bogs down when normal driving. If I stomp on it when it's bogging down it gets up and goes and runs great. Also getting a bank 1 rich code p0172. Replaced all coils last summer, all plugs at the same time, and replaced the lifters a few months back. Sound appears to come from bank 2. I pulled the valve cover and ran it and saw nothing out of the ordinary. The lifters however were rock hard and I couldn't compress them by hand. Is this normal? I've been chasing this misfire for 2 months and am about to give up.

Can you post video??

Ticking can be exhaust manifold leak. Have you checked to make sure a spark plug is not loose and ready to eject??

Possibly a bad injector / poor spray pattern causing rich condition or bad O2 sensor?? You might read the plugs to check for anything obvious.

Just to confirm bank one is the passenger side, cylinders 1 through 4 front to back.

Technically the lifters are hydraulic lash adjusters with these over head cam mod motors. Their function is to maintain zero clearance(lash) between the cam, rocker, and valve. So yes they should not compress easily.

Check your coil packs again. Depending on what brand you got i hear stories of some failing after a month. You can check them all with a multimeter. What resistance they should all have i do not know but they should all be identical. The ticking is what Toms89 said. If you dump some Hyper Lube in your oil it will dampen the noise. Ticking is what fords do to let you know they still work lol.
