Does any know if it is possible to convert and Expedition with a console shifter to a column shifter? The SSV version (police) has a column shifter and no center console, so I know the parts exist to do it. I just don't know if anyone can get them and how hard it would be to make the conversion.

Any information would be appreciated.

I don't work on newer vehicles (1900-1980) but I might be wrong about this the SSV uses column shift and has rods connected to the SSV shifter.
the regular civilian expedition has a separate trans control module. functions are different. I might be wrong though.

the floor shifter uses a cable to shift the trans. The newer F150 that is a column shift uses a cable to shift the trans also. I have not looked at a expedition that has a column shifter but I am sure it also uses a cable. so if you get all the parts needed to convert your expedition from a doner vehicle. I am sure it can be done without much trouble.
