I jinxed myself talking earlier about how reliable my truck has been. I developed the dreaded coolant leak at the turbo line quick connect and need to fix it. I’m on tour right now in a different state every weekend and am not looking forward to trying to deal with midstream. I know there is a better more permanent fix that merely replacing the o rings that leak or the entire lines as ford does. Can someone point me to a tech article on how people upgraded their lines and connectors from the OEM junk that leaks?

I guess I’m on my own here. When I figure this all out I’ll post a write up

I wasn’t on yesterday, but from what I’ve found, this is the fitting on the turbo side of that coolant line. This isn’t the plastic one it comes with from the factory, but an upgraded version.
BL3Z-6A968B is the fitting at the block. From what I read, the turbo side is the same as a -6AN fitting, the block may or may not be. Seemed to be undetermined as far as what people actually posted up. I find a lot of “guys have replaced theirs with AN fittings and pipe without problems” but no actual links to those “guys”.

There are several threads on the f150 Ecoboost site about coolant leaks with turbos on both sides.

Here is one...
https://www.f150ecoboost.net/forum/...e/17095-coolant-leak-driver-s-side-turbo.html

Here's another...

That’s what I’ve been reading which led
Me to post here in the first place. I was just trying to definitively determine what fittings people were using to fix the issue. No one seems clear on this.

ALLBOOST: thanks for the link. I’ll check this out. I might have to just tear into it and figure out what I need to retrofit to fix this permanently.

I know I’m reviving a very, very old thread, but… I admittedly created a coolant leak at the passenger rear of the engine when I changed the warped exhaust manifold on that side. ‍ My 2017 with the 3.5 EB has been sitting since July since I received wild quotes to remove the body or pull the engine, just to put the OE parts back in. I am going to use the AN fittings.

My plan is to move the engine forward enough to work on it, with an engine hoist, but I cannot find anyone who has done this on the Expy’s. All I have seen online is body removal. Maybe I should make a new thread but hoping anyone following this old one might have actual experience dealing with this. Thanks

Did you ever tackle this? Can’t reach the back of the head to change out the $8 fitting. Hate to pay $1500 to get it fixed. I can visually see the leak just can’t reach it. Turbo and exhaust out of the way…
