I live in the Midwest, but have vacationed in Las Vegas with family and friends for about 18 years.

We often do not rent a car, but when we do - I often observe some of the worst drivers in the country in Las Vegas.

Very rude, constantly changing lanes, tailgating, excessive speed, street racing, rapid acceleration with tire burnouts, etc.

I realize this is a generalization, but I hate driving in or around Las Vegas.

That's to bad. Looks like he hit the guard rail. Doesn't look like the expedition was destroyed to kill the drive. I wonder if he was ejected from it.

He cracked the guardrail , haven't seen that too often in my 30 years in EMS. Probably going too fast and lost control.

restrained or unrestrained? I can not tell from the article. Even in a big vehicle, being unrestrained may be an issue with deceleration forces/blunt trauma. Unfortunately quite a few people think driving a big truck makes one invincible... but a non yielding wall at good speed make a formidable nemesis, regardless of the vehicle - maybe except military tanks

My thoughts are the same, she hit both the guardrail and the wall at a high rate of speed. Might have been at a 28-40 degree angle headed towards the wall, trunk then took the impact, absorbed what it did, and sprung back to land in it's current position due to the inertia. Possibly a medical condition is what caused the driver to lose control, heart attack, epilepsy, etc.

Still sad any way you look at it.
