Hello all,

I was looking at summit racing crate engines for my 98. What would be a good motor to drop in? I want the horse power. Thanks!

2013 5.0L TI-VCT COBRA JET SUPERCHARGED ENGINE -- M-6000-SCJ13

Believe they are rated around 690hp from the factory but can easily be tweaked for more.

May require some modifications for street use and your application..

The alternator pulley makes me laugh.... guessing the alternator does not do much until high rpms..

What exactly are you looking for? Goals, plans etc...

Do you want something that will bolt right in or plan on some fab work?

Summit racing does not list any direct replacements.

You can purchase a re-manufactured long block, build your own or purchase built block and transfer your accessories, intake, etc.

Going with a "built" bottom end (forged rods, pistons and crank) really serves no purpose unless you plan on some serious mods. You can stick with rebuilt stock bottom end and put your money into head work for an increase in hp.

If you can find a "built" lightning motor (complete w/ supercharger set up) it would probably be your best option as far as cost vs hp and bolt right in.
