Cruise Control Module

A couple of nights ago, we were driving our 2000 Expy and all of a sudden I saw a puff of white smoke come out of the hood on the driver's side. Didn't know what it was but afterwards, my turn signals stopped working. After getting home, I checked and I had blown a fuse for the turning signals & speed (cruise) control module. I replaced the fuse and something started smoking right away. I looked and it was the speed(cruise) control module. There was a ton of smoke coming out of it. I took the fuse out, unplugged the module and then put the fuse in so I can have turn signals. I am assuming I need to replace the module or could it be a short somewhere else? Any idea how much one of these is going to run me?
