My cruise control is not working and I am at a dead end on how to fix it. I looked deeply in the Service Manual that I have and there is NO reference anywhere to cruise control, speed control (as referenced in regular manual), control speed, or control cruise.

The button lights on the wheel illuminate when the head lights are on, but the actual cruise does not kick on when I try to set it at a specific speed over 35mph. I know there is no dash light to indicate that it is on, and I know mine is not part of the recall (mine is a 1998).

Does anyone have a reference to where in the service manual I should look, or what fuse number I should check. Thanks for any and all help.

Details: 1998 Expedition 5.4L 128k miles. Purchased from police impound auction: unknown history.

The only one I could see in the manual was fuse 5 in the passenger compartment fuse box.

well it could be part of the recall. mine was and it was a 98. get that checked just in case. and the motor could be bad. you can see the motor cause its wire driven. its a black cylinder over the airbox closer to the firewall. just follow a throttle cable that isnt towards the firewall. idk how to check that though. idk much about electrical systems.
