First time having a hitch cover. Not excited about removing every time I tow and installing hitch. Typically leave hitch on truck or older Expy
Not attractive with cover off hitch on. Anyone customize this plastic cover to leave hitch installed? Thanks

Thought the same thing. But need another hole for trailer wire plug.
Maybe the only answer. Hope someone may have already done this?

Been thinking of buying a 2nd cover to do just that...was wondering if somebody had done the same. Hoping somebody has!

I agree. Looks ugly when the cover is removed. There should be an internal cover in addition. I have thought about it, but haven't done anything about it.

It would be a lot larger than just the hitch hole and pin connector. You would also need room for the chains.

You might be able to cut a new cover to remove a large part of the center, but I think you old loose the ability to clip it in place.

I had planned to connect the chains under and behind this the plastic which is under the hitch? Is this not here it is done? I have not towed with this module Expy yet.

I’m glad someone else brought that up. Seems it could have been a cleaner design. But, I guess, function over form, in this case.

I would love to figure this out! Here is one I found on the net...View attachment 74663View attachment 74664
This one is not difficult to do, you could even add a rubber grommet to close the hole off. This gives me an idea to purchase another hitch cover and modify for my trailer hookup. When in use, I'd use this one, when not in use, I'd install the original.

Put a wire extension on and have the plug in facing the rear thru the cover. I still think the chains will pull the cover off from the bottom.
