I'm ready to order a set of ProComp ES3000's from some reviews here for my '98 2WD eddie bauer. Coil springs in back.

I don't like how high the back sits. I don't know if the front springs are sagged or if it's supposed to be raked this much, but I'd like to cut 1" or so off the rear springs.

Would that small amount effect the lifetime of my new rear shocks?
- If yes, then is it easy to find a ES3000 rear shock with 1" shorter spring?

Would it effect handling or steering geometry?

(The levelling kits I've found are expensive and too much drop. I'm happy with the front, just want the rear a little more level. If levelling costs much, then I'll just leave it as is and put new stock-length shocks all around.)

So. Cal
Cutting coils is a tricky business. Cut too much and they have too much drop and poor ride . Cut to little and they wont line up and rest in place very well.

I am with you though I hate the rake on my 01, it is like 2+ inches.

Oh well, thanks. I guess I'll leave it as is since I don't want the front higher and I still have some maintenance items to spend money on before spending on appearance mods.
