Replacing cylinder head 2V PI 5.4. Help on setting up valve timing?

So after trying to hunt down this loose spark plug issue I've been having with my 99 5.4 PI Expo, I decided to pull the passenger cylinder head and realized it has had an insert put in and destroyed the boss for the spark plug(however you guys call it). I'm still in the process of collecting parts and am probably going to pull the driverside head just to do both head gaskets. My question is has anybody timed this engine? Any advise without any special tools?

It's not that hard. You just have to line up the timing marks. There's really no black magic to it. Even the 4 cams aren't bad. Unless you're actually degreeing them.
