Hot in Nebraska now but after a car wash I tend to turn on mirror, rear window defroster button to speed up drying. This time I noticed it doesn't work. Checked fuse. Other things to check??? Just wanna fix it rather than procrastinate especially since everything else in expy works.

When I bought my 2006 it had the same issue... Was completely missing the fuse for it, replaced fuse and was fine

Mines been fine for 2years til now. Put a test light on fuse.

Are those wires that plug into the back window plugged in? If they are and it still doesn't work then that's about as far as I can for suggestions

I'll check that. Not sure how they would of came undone but there had always been a small leak by both rear hatch hinges. Will inspect for water damage.

Do you have manual controls or auto controls for the A/C-Heat functions.
What fuses did you check Reply with the fuse number. And how you checked them?
Can you read and understand wiring diagrams?

Also check the ground connection behind the drivers side kick panel

Manual ac/heat. Believe my manual said fuse 8 was defrost. Lit up. I can decipher a wire diagram. Just very slow at it.

This expy is nicest vehicle I've ever owned. Previous junkets I've always rigged wiring direct or toggle switched. Not looking to go that route with this suv.

Check the following fuses #8, # 13 and # 114 If you can use a volt meter to see if you have voltage on both sides of the fuse A test lamp is ok You also need to have the key in the run position

Ok I'll check them in the morning and get back to ya. Right now I just have a old test lamp but it works fine. Guess I should mention I did a low pressure engine bay clean just for dust and stuff right before this happened. No oil are anything to pressure wash. Was careful, don't know if something under hood could of got disturbed.

Sorry for such delayed response. defrost isn't essential right now so got lazy. Ha. Anyways checked 8,13,114. 8 will not light up at all. Tried with 2 Different fuses . Not sure where to go from here.

Maybe a broken connection in circuit. As mentioned earlier in post rear window hatch has always had a small leak I never thought much of but the 2 plug in connections for defrost on hatch windows don't look so hot.

The reason you are not getting fuse #8 to show power is due to the relay not closing see the wiring diagram

Ok. I see. Makes perfect sense now why 13 and 114 work but not 8. Thanks for the help. Picked up a Haynes manual for expy a lil bit ago to start getting more versed in more than bolt on/off repairs.

I hear ya. Heard lots of hate about Haynes and Chilton's manual manuals but this was a sketchy $10 cash deal at AutoZone so I couldn't pass it up. I live in worst part of Omaha ha-ha.
