Has anybody ever found a solution to put an actual dipstick in these vehicles?

Also, are all the transmission pans the same from the expeditions and f150's? id like to replace the trans pan with one that has a drain plug and if they are different, can a guy install a drain plug in that lil sump in the pan.

Interested in a "real" indicator and tube as well. I did find that dorman has a steel pan with a drain plug for about 30 bucks on rock auto. Wish I had seen that before my fluid and filter change. Will add at next trans service to get the drain plug.

I bit the bullet and ordered the expensive B&M transmission dipstick. It’s like $220. However, when I went to install it, the part that treads into the flange of the transmission, which is the plastic cap that holds the current tiny dip stick, was too big on the B&M dipstick. So I returned it.

I also have the Dorman transmission pan with a drain plug. It’s OK. The drain plug itself doesn’t seem to seal all that well. The drain plug is always wet, but it never drips while parked. I’ve been considering going to a pan like the PML. I’m assuming if I did, the drain plug would seal better.

So I've been wondering about this too; saw the following on an Expy 4th Gen FB group and $70 seems a lot better than the $300 B&M dipstick. What am I missing here? They look exactly the same except for the B&M logo on the cap?!?

Read the description. Obviously written originally in Chinese and then converted to english without the benefit of being reviewed / edited by anyone whose primary language is english, let alone designed and or tested by one.

Oh and zero reviews.
