A while ago someone had asked about installing third row seating in their expy. I have a '97 and found the seat and mounting brackets from 2 separate sellers on ebay. I pulled up the carpet in the cargo area and saw that the floor already had loong ovals where the metal is usually cut out at the factory on the newer models.
I cut out the ovals with an angle grinder and dropped the brackets in. The seat fit. I drilled holes and installed bolts, sealant, and cut the holes in the carpet. (Which is not as easy as you might think!)
It's a great addition to my vehicle, and makes it a little more like my long lost Excursion : (
All in all it cost me 225 bucks and adds a bunch more removable seating.
CAUTION though! I did some research after the fact and FORD, as a disclaimer, says that third row seating without headrests is highly dangerous in a rear-end collision.

The seats themselves don't have headrests?

Either way, good job on expanding your seating area :)

Yeah the seat has no headrests. That's the danger Ford was warning about. As for the seatbelts, they're there. If I could go back and not do this, I probably would avoid it, I ended up having to take the wheels off the front of the seat bracket to get it to lock in easier. Anyone able to send pics of their brackets so I can double check that mine are correct?
Thanks

My third row seats appear to have the whole 3-point system as the rest of the seats. The belts are just hanging there now as I don't have the third row yet, heh. :)

What year is your truck, ICrushedAPrius? I have a 97, so if yours is a 97-02 they should be the same. Do you need the brackets on the seat or in the truck? All I can do is the truck, currently...

my 2000 has a center waist belt, and side shoulder harness's. The shoulder straps bolt in above the window, and connect into the floor.

I have a '97... here's the problem I did have w the seats tho. I got the brackets on Ebay from "Rockucreation" They were not wide enough to fit the wheels that are on the front of the 3rd row seat. I noticed this after the install. They were not the right brackets. so i had to demo saw the wheels and wheel housings off to avoid a risky return transaction and possibility of losing my 90 bucks. wish i could find the correct brackets, but god, removing the brackets after I welded them in, ugh... anyone know where to get cheap brackets/seat for when I do a full overhaul in the spring?

Done :D old picture, you can adjust them....sort of...there clamped on to the wood of the 3row seat so to adjust them you have to take the leather cover off but I have adjusted them just don't have a recent pic
