I've been looking for the past few months at suspension upgrades for my 2017. Main goals are increased ground clearance and better damping while loaded down. As we know, the IRS isn't the best when near the max capacity. Just now stumbled across this setup from Dobinsons, who are a very well known Australian company in the Toyota world for making some really nice quality parts. They appear to offer something for all 3rd and 4th gen Expeditions, both struts and more importantly heavier rated springs.

Anyone on here actually running these? The struts, while twin tube, are slightly larger in diameter compared to 5100s and feature a linear valving, compared to the digressive valving on 5100s. I spoke with one of their USA reps today and got the following info for a 2017 application:

Front rate: 640lb
Rear rate: 1713lb (this doesn't feel right but I asked him to confirm what units that was in and he said lb/in)
Front strut extended length: 20.4" (Expedition spec 5100s are 20.95")
Front strut compressed length: 16.15" Expedition spec 5100s are 16.10")

They also offer "heavier" springs for constant weight carrying, but it's actually the same spring rate as the standard spring but with a bit more free length to account for some sag once additional weight is applied (tents, bumpers, winches, etc).

Finally, they mentioned the springs themselves could be used with OE style lower perches, which means one could purchase just the springs and pair them with Bilstein 5100s (set at the lowest clip) for a 45mm increase in ride height front and rear, with better ride quality than using just 5100s and preloading the factory springs. Interesting stuff!
