I recently updated my mirrors and they have the curb light in the bottom of them, they are not very bright and throw a yellow beam....so I thought about changing them to LED...well I popped it out from the bottom of the mirror and its like a self contained little pod with two pull off terminals...cant get to the bulb...has anyone done this conversion as of yet?? Hmmmmm

Baker, I wish you lived closer to me. I would pop out those boards and make you a custom board with some 285K MCD LEDs. I would light up your world with those. If you have some electrical knowledge, I can send you a little diagram to make your own. But, this would involve a little bit of modification too.

Baker, short of you sending me both mirrors, I can't help you out there. Maybe when I get my hands on Freeway's truck, I will be able to help you out more. My hands are a little bit tied at the moment. Granted, this does give me an idea of drilling a series of holes in the bottom of my mirrors and then sliding in a row of LEDs. That should light up the area by the doors really nicely. But then, the much easier project is to mount some 55 watt driving lights to the under side of the truck and point them at the other side of the truck. Done that to a few F-250s/350s. Easy to do and fairly cheap too.
