Someone must have adjust the speedo in mine. I passed a couple of those road signs that show your speed and it matched my speedo. While I know it's not 100% accurate I figure it's close.

just remember having bigger rims doesn't necessarily mean you have a bigger overall tire diameter.

I understand that. The lack of sidewall height makes up for the difference in diameter. But bigger rims take more power to turn since the diameter is larger. Plus I didn't know the stock wheel height. :pepper:

yes more unsprung weight. the standard wheels for a 2008 el are
Standard:
P255/70SR18.0OWL AS (32.06")
Available:
P275/55HR20.0BSW AS :31.91")

which is a about (32") so a 305/35/24 is about 32.41" which is about .67 off at 65mph

Finally got around to getting the front windows tinted. We took it to Az this weekend. It was a comfortable ride there and back.

And I put the updated wiper arm on the weekend after we bought. Last thing is to order the 7 pin connector.

I'm pushing it with the front door tint out here. I've only been nailed for it once (knock on wood). I've seen the strips and they look good, but I'm not sure I want to chance that one.

If I remember correctly in ca you only need 7" of winshield/viewing space. That's why you can do a chop top on a roadster and some "ricers" put stickers on their windshields

The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are:

  • The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.
  • If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.

What Jason said. A lot of people get away with it. Doesn't mean it's legal though. It's usually one of those things the cops will hit you for if you're pulled over for something else. At least that's how it went for me. I was pulled over because my motor was smoking. While he had me pulled over he nailed me for tint, modified emissions, tinted head lights, and something else. It was quite a list. When I had it signed off by another cop he asked if the first guy was bored.
