The headlight on the driver side has went out again. When i bought the truck the headlight went out and after a few mnths of waiting, the dealer i bought it replaced it and from my knowledge changed the balast. Welp two mnths later its out again. Arent the hid headlights supposed to last the life of vehicle? Any ideas of why this may be happening? I just dont wanna take it in to the lincoln dealer or drive it 3 hrs to where i bought it for them to tell me its a $1000 replacement.

Condensation can kill the bulb and the ballast. Pop the housing out, apply some butyl tape along the seam, and bake it in the over for a few minutes at 150F. Alternately, you can use some RTV silicone, but keep in mind it's a b*tch to remove should you ever need to do so. After you have it sealed up and are getting no more condensation inside the light, replace the bulb and/or the ballast and go from there.
