We just replaced the blend door actuator in the front and rear as they were ticking and failing. However, now the drivers side a/c and heat won't change at all. It just blows whatever temp the engine is. So if it is cold then it will blow cold, if the engine is warm/hot it will blow warm/hot temp through the selected drivers vents. All of the other zones (passenger and rear work great just not drivers). Drivers vents will change from defrost/vent/floor just fine so not a mode actuator.

Is there an actuator that I don't know about? There isn't any tapping or noise at all it will just not change temp. As we are in AZ and 110 degree weather is on its way I would like to get a/c working asap. Thanks for your help!

If you didn't have the problem before you changed the front actuator and now you have the problem I would go back and double check your work to make sure you reconnected everything. Not sure what all you had to do to replace the front actuator. But it sounds like you missed something.

So many time that is what happens "It worked fine until I did something"

Looking at the prints for your expy and again not knowing what all you may have disconnected but there is some commom connectors for the left and right temp actuator doors. Possible that you may have a pin that was pushed out or isn't making contact

Like Bedrck said, sounds like you've got a plug that didn't go back together right. Sorry but your gonna have to backtrack your work. Are their any vacuum lines that you pulled/ pinched. Also as he stated be sure no pins are bent, or corroded. As long as you didn't short something out, you should have air/ heat coming out. One last thing check any fuses/ relays involved with circuits not only for continuity, but power on both sides.

The blend door that controls the driver side blend is the one on the bottom. I have a 2010 and there are four blend doors. If you find an expanded view parts list, you can see each. The top, left and right (where they are located, not what they control) are difficult to access. As nearly as I can tell, the bottom one is impossible without removing the dash, the center console, and the entire heater/air conditioner. An alternative might be dropping the transmission and sawing a hole in the floor. I know this isn't good news but may help you to make some decisions about the future of your Expedition.

Thanks for all of the comments! I want receiving notifications that there were replies. The problem preceded or repairs To the two actuators so I'm pretty sure that the problem isn't from my work but I will pull the center console out again and double check. I really am at a loss. Any continued advice is great.

My wife isn't excited about the possible how in the floor idea for her baby. I just wish I knew what the problem is with certainty then I can create a plan of action.

Sometimes when you go to fix one thing on vehicles, like your noisy blend door actuator, it can trigger something else with the system. Some times it makes sense because their linked together, but sometimes an item acts up, that's not involved in any way. It can be as simple as bumping a part that was marginal, and ready to fail, or it can be a plug going back together, and you crimped a pin, or wire. These SUVs are a tight mess, and easy to bumble. Even the best techs pull their hair out trying to figure out what they did.
