I'm looking at mounting a DVD player somewhere in the front of my Expy, possibly in the console for ease of access and a clean install. I'm looking at these units:

Soundstream VDVD-210 *Half-DIN In-Dash DVD Player with Front USB/AUX/SD Card Input* at Onlinecarstereo.com

Soundstream VDVD-165 Single-DIN In-Dash DVD Receiver with Front USB/AUX/SD Card Input at Onlinecarstereo.com

Does anyone think these will fit in the center console? If not, any good ideas for mounting it in the front so we can access it while driving so we can change movies for our child in the back seat?

Well single DIN is 180 x 50 mm, so half DIN should be 180 x 25 mm. I don't imagine the depth would be an issue at all as the console is pretty deep.

As far as alternate mounting locations, you might be able to mount it under the cigarette lighter socket if you're willing to cut into the trim. I've had the trim piece above it out many times, but I can't recall if there is anything located in that bottom section.

glove compartment...armrest compartment...under middle seat in second row

Under middle seat's not the best since that's where my toddler sits, and we couldn't reach it. I like the idea, though.

Don't want to eat up the whole console; that's why the 1/2 DIN looks appealing. I'll measure and see what works best.

I tried that and wasn't satisfied with it. I might get an all-in-one unit for the back after Thanksgiving.
