ebay jdm type lights

i was lookign on ebay and found, what i thought would look good, were all black lighting. ie: headlights, corner lights and taillights. being i have a black eddie bauer i reallylike the black on black. has any one els gone for the "vip" look. only problem i have are the tan mouldings and running boards...

Sounds like it would look good. I've seen it done before...I think on cardomain.com or something like that...be sure to put up some pictures if you get it done!

XLT trucks have black moulding and runners. Maybe find some from a junkyard.

i just found this one. he took the mouldings off all together. any one have a pic of an all black expo with mouldings. id like to compare

XLTs don't have the wheel well flares like the EB does. So I'm pretty sure there aren't any black mouldings. The black ones I was talking about are the bumper trim, runners, and rear bumper trim.

are the wheel well moldings just double sided tape? or do they have clips?

Two things...

I'm pretty sure the 01-02 XLT 4x4s have the fender moldings if they have the 'sport appearance package' or something like that. These trucks have the same trim as the EB's, but its painted gray/silver. I'll double check for you, though.

Also, I was shopping for front fenders on Ebay the other day and it seems that the trucks with the factory moldings have some sort of mounting holes in the fenders. Check Ebay to see what I mean.

If I were you, I'd just pull the moldings off, paint them black, and then put them back on. Hope this helps...

EDIT: From what I found, the 01-02's XLT 4x4's with the optional 17s get the gray fender trim, no rocker panel trim (which the EB's have) and color matched door guards (like the EB's)

do you think the mouldings have clips? i dont feel like buying new mouldings if i break on trying to get the clips out. id love to paint them black. i thought about use krylon fusion on the running boards and rough lower valance. and testing my painitng skills with the smooth moldings. maybe a single stage will be close to teh factory color.
