Is there any consensus on which replacement provides the best quality of DOT approved illumination?

I just bought a pair from amazing for $48 and although there is a small gap between light and grill, the new lights take 10 years off the look of the car

I was wondering about the quality and fitment myself. I was already to buy a set on eBay but then I saw a video on YouTube and the quality was crap. The guy installing the light housing cracked it while putting it in and he barely touched it.

I purchased "OEM" replacements on EBAY for around $35. They even came with bulbs and free shipping. They fit and look perfect. Night vision is back to 100%. Way better than messing around with cleaning kits. Some of the fogging is on inside and you will never get it off. One of originals, was not bad. I sold it, on craigslist for $10. Win-win all the way around.

I had no idea you could buy these headlights so cheap on eBay. I think I'll get one set for my 2000 and if I like them, get another set for the 1997.

My kid changed these out on his own, taking about an hour total. The rears took maybe 5 min each but the fronts took longer, having to remove and replace the height/level adjustment screws. Quality is ok- a bit thin and flimsy with a decent gap between the headlight and cornering light. Light output is the same. I think I'll upgrade the bulbs in front, not a big deal since I'm in the city and all the streets are lit up. ~100 bucks, worth it IMO. Really freshens up the look of the beast.

Truck was in the body shop, getting some vandalism to the paint repaired, so I apologize for not posting pictures of the lamps I linked sooner.

Anyhow, replaced the fogs at the same time.
