Isn't your truck still covered under the 3 year 36K mile warranty. To me, that's a warranty issue. That adhesive is a 3M adhesive designed for automotive use. I'd put it in for a warranty claim.

Yeah but they sounded like they weren't going to cover that for some reason. I may just get some 3M tape like stated above bc I really don't trust my service department they have done some shady stuff to my family as a whole over the past 10 years (7 vehicles).

If that is the case, take it to another Ford dealership, or contact a Ford Factory rep, and explain the situation. I run mine through an automatic car wash several times a week and have not had any problems. There should be no way that they should come off with normal hand washing.

Don't let the dealership push you around because you are young. You bought a new truck and they have to stand behind it. Talk to the Service manager and get him or her to address your concerns, or talk to the owner.

Can I see a picture of the E without the L?

Also, Andy, you wash your Expedition so many times per week that the workers can probably recognize your truck. How much do you pay on that monthly subscription?

I'm sure it looks dorky with the missing letter but I'm not sure what purpose any of these emblems serve on our trucks. I put an SVT emblem on my '07 10 years ago. Was still on the truck when I sold it two months ago. Police Interceptor badges on each side of the hood budge look kool too. :)

Like 'Boater I'm considering de-badging the truck but that lift gate is massive and plain.

Hayes here is the pricing:

Unlimited- Website.jpg

I started with the Basic monthly wash but found that I was spending extra to add the underbody wash so upgraded to the Choose 2. The first price is the individual one price per car wash The center is monthly and the last column is for 6 months. I'm thinking about buying the 6 month ultimate wash package in November so I have it throughout the winter.

That's pretty good. You are definitely getting a good deal because you wash your truck so often. I'd wash my Expedition often too but I live in a location that would get it dirty on my drive home.

I know what you mean. Whenever I go to the flying field I drive about 3/4 of a mile down a gravel road and my white truck becomes even whiter with dust so I always go to the car wash on the way home. I park outside so its always getting dirty from the all the crap in the air. When I had a garage that I could park in I washed the truck only a couple of times a month sometimes less.

I quickly reapplied it with a bit of gorilla glue bc it looked rediculous with just an "E" and some leftover backing of 3M adhesive. I don't think the "L" is going to come back off anytime soon.

yeah I've done that before with a broken door lock stud. They wanted me to make an appointment to come in, remove the inner door panel, remove the door stud assembly, and replace it with a new setup when all I wanted them to do was unscrew the stud that was broken off and screw a new one on. Took talking to 5 different people to get them just to give me the piece free of charge "covered under warranty" and donit myself. May try the same approach here again

Andy, have you done any research on what effect all those car washes can do to the paint? I'm no expert but it would seem to me that washing a vehicle almost every day could cause damage. I wouldn't want to see you harm your new truck.

John it never hurt my old truck and I ran that through the car wash hundreds of time. This one still has a mirror finish and its so shiny that I can see myself in the paint. I have no worries about this car wash.

What you need my friend is one of these...it's awful nice to wash it in the blazing sun like yesterday while it's parked under it's little house! The biggest reason I bought it is showing up in the picture....trees and lots of them. The Oaks in the spring are notorious for dropping copious amounts of sap and yellow pollen and I have a yard full of them. I would have bought the metal carport but the guy gave me a May lead time when I called in March. This was 240 bucks or so, has 2-1/4" poles and it really pretty strong....believe me, it's not the same one that Harbor freight sells<LOL>!!

It's 20' x 12' and no one has complained about it but I think that my other truck kind of blocks it, helps "hide" it from view.

jeff

Oh, and brother Andy, in the interests of full disclosure, one of my cheap LED headlights began flickering last week when I started up in the morning so I ordered another set...(27 bucks) since I didn't want to replace just one of them.

We downsized a couple of years ago and we live in a small rental house (its a ranch with no basement) because we will probably move after the youngest daughter graduates from college in a 1-1/2 years. The garage is full of my tools, saws, tool boxes shelving and RC airplane stuff, and I really can't put up anything like that or the landlady and HOA would freak out.

Sorry to hear about your LEDs but at $27 you really can't go wrong. :)
