I got a 2000 2x4 expy xlt.

Would it be okay to weld in a new muffler, like the flowmaster super 50, onto my stock exhuast pipe?

Would the old metal give a good enough weld and/or will it fit? Thanks.
Cuz the whole cat-back is like $400 but the muffler is just about $150.

yeah you could do it. but also cut the resonator at the tip of the exhaust. and make sure the flowmaster is the same size pipe as the stock pipe which is i think 2-2.5 inches. dont remember. been so long.
