That video made me nervous. I saw a horrific video of a jeep being towed out of a ditch when the chain snapped, launched itself through the windshield, and maimed the driver. I've been pulled out of roadside ditches twice with chains. I'm getting a set of tow straps.

Agreed, lots of tailgate dents from broken chains out there. He did a good job of not jerking it; but, I'll never use a chain, only snatch straps. Don't forget snatch straps age out, check them annually and throw out frayed straps.

I have an kinetic recovery rope (Bubba Rope) that works well for situations like this. The rebound of the rope does most of the work.
