Its in the vehicle settings tab in the vehicle instrument menu amd thwres a button on the dash next to the yield marker button
It's also on the center stack along the top along with the camera, auto start-stop, hill decent control, etc.

(Which, as I now read dlcorbett's post more carefully, is exactly what he said...man I wish there was a way to delete a bonehead post.)

I can feel the wheel vibrate subtly, at first I thought it was rough patches of road but I figured it out after the second day. Activating the ‘aid’ feature will turn the wheel to keep the car in the lane, there is no mistaking this at all. What sensitivity is your alert set at? I’m not sure how the Expy is set up but the Navi has sensitivity settings for both lane keeping and lane warning.

The Expy has Low-Med-High settings for the alert, but the lane keeping is either on or off on the Expy.

A visit with the dealer was a bit of education for both of us. When setting the alert sensitivity, the wheel vibrates but the difference between Low and High is not great. With good lane markings, the Expy did steer away from the line but the tug is subtle in my opinion. The alert comes on after you cross the line by maybe a foot or more. We took another new one out and repeated on the same stretch of road with the same results. We then visited the service department and it was their opinion that earlier implementations on Ford vehicles was met with negative feedback from owners and he thought Ford had dialed back on the aggressiveness on this model.

I was able to drive it. Like everything in the class, it was no sports car. That said, it seemed rather quiet and relatively car-like in its ride. The interior was rather nice in appearance. The other thing I'd have to give up for the GLS is cargo room behind the third row, as there's not really a "Max" option. And if you're willing to give up that extra cargo room, my top two would be the Nissan Patrol (Armada) or the new Discovery. And I haven't bought an expy just yet: I'm on here because our plan is to buy either an FX4 Expedition Max or a Z71 Suburban sometime in the next 9-12 months. And i really like to lurk the forums before I buy...

My wife has a 2015 GL550, we bought it certified. At the time I looked and looked for the Low Range version, they were hard to find in the mileage we wanted and there was definitely a premium to be had for the low range. Hers drives like a dream and that is putting it nicely. There is either zero feedback or every bump in Sport, but in Sport it has got the guts to haul tail. The 2nd/3rd row seat issue you mention is one of the reasons I don't like driving and also the kids a re still a little too close to my aging ears. All reasons why I am thinking of getting out of my X5 in favor of the Expy. I want real 4WD and some space to haul 3 kids 100lb dog and G-Parents around in.

Just still hing up on two things MAX or no MAX and LTD or Plat. The justification for me getting is a new one is I will have for long time; I usually keep cars for 100-150k mi which I know is not a long time, I was a "travelling sales guy" for the better part of the last 10 years so miles racked up quick and while mechanically sound I wore out the "it" factor of my daily "office" quicker than most.

favorite feature of Expys for me is the ride and interior/ext styling. Anyone of you folks with the Plat, really find the massaging seats worth it. I know other parts of the Plat may carry more weight but I work off T-charts and trying to make best decision on all the facts is hard when you can't find one to rent for a week near you. The old try before you buy mantra is hard here.

Personal opinion alert!

The massaging seats are nice but not life-changing. If that was the only thing you got with the platinum upgrade, they're not nice enough all on their own to be worth it. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd even spring for them if they were a stand-alone $500 option. But taken together with the nicer seat leather, the other upgraded interior materials (real wood appliques, light colored headliner, darker interior plastic trim pieces, platinum badging, etc.), power boost, sound dampening, satin chrome exterior trim, yada yada yada, the platinum trim was completely worth it.

Same goes with the Max. It's not that much longer, so the maneuverability is not substantially different. But you get a LOT more usable space behind the third row plus you get much wider rear door openings. I also think the proportions of the vehicle as a whole look better with the max, but that is a 100% subjective view.

We're going on 3 weeks with our Platinum Max. The massaging seats are controlled on the center display. My wife says "wow", I say "meh". They don't vibrate but apply alternating pressure in pads. It feels like there are 4 in a square in the rear part of the seat cushion and 3 horizontal ones across the back. It may be more beneficial during a lengthy drive maybe in conjunction with some seat heating turned on, but I tried them only while sitting in the driveway. If I was to pick one feature that would tip the scale in selecting the Platinum, for us it was the CCD suspension with the selectable modes. We alternate between towing an 8,000 lb travel trailer and solo road trips and I've found the Tow/Haul and Eco modes to do an excellent job. The 10-speed seems to be programed to respond properly in all I've tried so far. Very quiet inside. At low speeds, there is a pleasant throaty sound to the engine, but I understand that is artificially piped into the speakers.

You can also activate the massage through the center button in the multi-directional pad on the side of the seat...by the seat adjustment.

Thanks for the disclaimer ;) and the opinion. It is a asum of all the parts game, when we are talking about this much $. Interestingly I actually am in the camp that thinks the non-MAX is better looking, not that the MAX is ugly in any way.

One feature I do like in my limited is the cargo package, at first thought it was goofy, but day in and day out I find the extra shelf very useful. Granted I always have the 3rd row up.

It has taken me awhile to get use to the looks, but it has to have the 22 on it. I am always carring around kids, so I love the safety items. Ford’s safety tech may not be as good as our Volvo, but wouldn’t want to be in the third row of the Volvo. :)

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned or not but now being a couple months in the birds eye view thing is awesome, I’ve actually been using the rear glass opening and like it, and the HUD the Navi has are all things I didn’t think I’d be super stoked on but now can’t live without.

Totally Agee that the 360 camera is a lifesaver for the 22 inch rims in tight places. I haven’t used the auto park but I will try it soon.

I messed with the auto park right after I got the truck and that’s it. I also messed with the trailer backup assist but decided to switch to the old fashioned way because I was obstructing the street and a car came.

Birds eye is GREAT!!! It’ll let you park really straight and evenly spaced it regular parking spaces.

The parallel park feature is awesome! It works really really well. On occasion, it will say it has found a suitable spot, tell you to pull forward and not tell you to stop and reverse I just had to do it the old-fashioned way. We used about a half a dozen times in Savannah and it works great it’ll really put the bumper close to the car in front of you as it swings in!

The sling player is tiptop as well. We have used it on every trip. I sat the back almost the whole trip home from Savannah and watch TV the entire time.

The auto park is nice, although I can usually do it myself faster. But it’s a very cool party trick when others are in the car...always good for some “ooohs and aaaahs”.

And I’m like Artie with the rear glass...never knew I needed such a thing until I had it. Makes it super easy to get stuff in and out of the back if I’m parked too close to open the whole lift gate.

I think my favorite feature, however, is just the smooth ride and the smooth power delivery. Nothing better headed home from the office than setting it on eco mode, opening the sunroof, turning up some tunes, turning on the massaging seat, setting the adaptive cruise control and letting my $80,000 American land yacht take me home in smooth, powerful, comfort. All that’s missing is a scotch...although I think Johnny Law might have something to say about that.

My favorite feature is being able to turn the Sync/nag screen off but have it come on when reversing and turn off again. A nice feature during night time driving. I wish the gauge cluster screen could be turned off as well o at least dimmed some more.

I just wish the button for the camera was down by the auto park button. I use it all the time and hate having to reach for it.
