feels like i get kicked in the rear

When accelerating at a slow or moderate pace I feel like the truck is getting kicked in the rear. But if I accelerate fast the truck is smooth. Could this be the limited slip or is my tranny going out? I have 166k miles. No real evidace of the tyranny slipping. It just feels like the drive train grabbing the letting go for a split second....

Its possible your converter is chattering. Locking and unlocking.... To test this hit the brakes as you accelerate. Not enough to slow vehicle but enough for the brake lights to go on. This causes the computer to unlock the converter. If your symptoms stop then you will know its likely your converter.

maybe you have plugs that need to be changed, and what you are feeling is the engine not performing at its best. mine is currently at that stage! haha

Voodoo, does it feel like a quick set of vibrations like something is vibrating or is it more of a single bump? The fast vibrations tend to be the limited slip rear end kicking in too early. But a single bump can be the torque converter sticking.

Thermo - its bumps, not a vibration. And worse case so far bump -> .5 sec -> bump -> .5 sec -> bump until I stopped accelerating. That is when it feels like the truck is getting hit or bumped from behind.

Drove it last night after letting things cool down and did not fell it at all. So I am thinking that this 117 degree street temp is effecting the trans fluid after it warms up. So I am going to try and drain the pan and tq converter this weekend and refill. Or would this be a waste of time?

All the COP were swapped before I bought the truck. I have had the truck for 1 year. and the receipt for the COP and plugs replacement was 6 months before I bought it

Voodoo, not sure what to tell you. Since you are not getting any engine codes, I would be leaning towards the tranny. It may be that the tranny is acting up a little bit and is slipping some and then catching again, leading to the bumping feeling that you are feeling.

Is it a kick or does the engine push it. Like does the engine rev?

Cuz mine accelerates randomly sometimes like that at slow speeds(rolling... not touching the acclerator) and i just had my tranny rebuilt. So its not that.
