Well here's a good one guys. My 2000 expedition drivers side power window stopped going up
It goes down ok. I've tried a different switch, the old one and new one check fine with ohmmeter. I ordered yet another switch off eBay. At the glass shop, that's what he thinks. Have tried another motor, another new regulator, still nada. Other question nobody seems to know, is the relay for one touch window on drivers side any different than one with same pins? I'm stumped. I think it's power related because when ki jumped plug going to switch, I got no response. Thanks Moose.

Well, things happen only to me. I just came home from a frustrating morning. Paid a shop $75.00 to install a window regulator. I posted above. Well still went down, not up. We tried new regulator, which I bought over 2 years ago. Nos Ford stock. Nope, same thing. Weird thing on Ford's, you can't jump plug that goes to door switch. Tried on 2 switches. Well out of a hunch, I swapped the one touch down relay with another I bought off eBay, had three. Sure enough, it goes up/down beautiful. Only problem is it still has popping when I put window all the way up, or down. I heard from another shop I called the guy that installed pinched the wire for new regulator. What do you guys think?

Well, I'm bummed out. I ended up finishing a job that the shop should have. I had the panel off due to the non functional window earlier. What really ticked me off was the moron that did the install screwed up the cable in the window regulator. It won't go up or down without stopping. He ruined a brand new N.O.S regulator. I should have done the job myself. Going back there will be just a fight. The window works sorta, so that's the way it will stay. Make sure the tech you hire is a real mechanic.

I replaced my 2001 with a regulator and motor from Amazon. Had to drill out about 6 rivets and replace them with a humongous tool. The one touch in the 01 is for down only. There is a current shunt in the body control module that detects when the motor is physically at end of travel and shuts off the relay. The relays do indeed control direction of travel. I would take a look at the schematic and try to determine where the current flows to raise the glass. You might have an open ground wire or blown fuse, or blown relay. Usually the relays are common and you can switch them out to see if the trouble follows the relay. However some relays are soldered into the BCM.

The regulator in the 01 uses a gear arrangement and a pantograph style jack to raise the glass. If the one installed uses cables I have to wonder if it is a chinese knock off.

Here is what an 2001 uses.... drivers side...

It was a new Ford unit I got off of EBay. The up portion was fixed by me swapping out the window relay on the inside fuse box. Never heard of one direction going bad, but it did. My question is, can anything be done about the stopping and rough action now. It's also not stopping at top and bottom, without releasing the switch. This started about 2 years ago, when I installed a reman window without taking out the regulator. Everyone said that was a bad regulator, they were wrong. Something the guy did today when he installed it is really screwed up. Do you have the window all the way up on regulator when installing motor?

Those window regulators will take your fingers off if you don't retain that round spring. There's a hold you can drop a bolt thru that will lock it in place. I figured that out after 4 hours in the ER.

That's one of the reasons I didn't want to mess with it. That spring on mine looks like it needs to be wound then put on a post to hold it. Can you tell me if that's so, or is already wound?
