Does anyone know if the price of a Ford ESP increases from the time of vehicle purchase to the time of buying the EDP if not done immediately? We recently bought a '24 Limited and I'd like to purchase an ESP, but ideally I would wait until just before the factory bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. Of course, I understand there could be price increases to the ESP so the question is assuming the base price of the ESP that I was quoted remains the same.

I'd contact one of the online sellers (Flood, Granger, Zeigler) and ask. They can probably tell you how the prices change as the vehicle ages.

Just do multiple quotes, one with the mileage right before the warranty expires, then one with it right after. We only have 3 months left on the bumper to bumper so we'll be getting one, b/c it sure came in handy with the Explorer (water pump, front LCAs, motor mounts).

I bought Fords premium warranty which is bumper to bumper same as factory. Also, have it on my 2011 super duty F-350 diesel. Been extremely satisfied even though haven’t really used it on my 2015 Expedition. Used a lot on the diesel and it’s paid for itself several times over. Suggest buying it within a month of factory warranty expiring because extended begins when you buy it.

I like having the Ford extended warranty because I can go to any Ford dealer and they apply with no hassles. It saved me a lot of money on repairs. I have the $100 deductible.

I would like to say a little about extended warranties. I bought one from Ford when we bought our 2019 Expedition, it was the best one. Let me say I love my Expedition, when it's not in the shop. It's been one thing after another, most not covered by extended warranty. I took it in to Ford recently because of warning on instrument panel, stating shift sys fault with a wrench, took it to Ford and they replaced solenoid in transmission. After driving it noticed an intermittent clunking noise. Took it back to Ford. They've had it for a week and told me they've ordered a new transmission. Was told it's around $13,000 but I will pay $100 because I have warranty. My SUV has around 85,000 miles on it. I will buy a new extended warranty when it gets close to 100,000 miles. It hasn't covered a whole lot but this is a big one.

I got quotes from dealers up North (I live in the south) that were less than local dealers. I figured warranty same no matter where I bought it. My dealer matched the lower quote.

I live in Canada (bought my warranty in the USA) and never had an issue - I just have to pay my deductible in US dollars (converted into Canadian dollars).

When I bought the ESP, I was out of the factory warranty. I had to get a vehicle inspection at a Ford dealer and pay $100 additional to get the ESP (that's what it says on the form if you purchase outside of the factory warranty).

The ESP has come in really handy. Recently had work done which included replacing the driver's side turbo and exhaust manifold with one with to spare before the end date!

I totally agree! I had the same issue with my transmission and Catalytic convertor with my 2020 Expedition Limited at 56,000 miles and the Ford warranty took care of it for $100. PS...best dealer ever for service is Celebrity Ford in Toms River, NJ.

Well, I picked up my 2019 from Ford service and was looking at the repair receipt and they didn't replace my transmission with a new transmission, it was replaced with a refurbished transmission. I was never told this. I went back inside to talk to the service writer to ask about the warranty on the refurbished transmission. She looked it up and told me that the warranty is for 3 years or the end of my extended warranty, whichever comes first. She said mileage doesn't apply here. My SUV has 85,000 miles on it. The warranty will expire in 2027, so about 3 years. I'm still not happy I was never told it was replaced with a refurbished transmission.
