The last Map Update Sync 1 was in 2019 and lists the version as 11.0X. Each update I purchased for my 2011 and 2014 (both Sync1) were delivered on DVD.
The updates for my 2017, were downloads which I then created a USB drive to do the install with.
I split Gen 3 Expeditions Into Gen3A (2009-2914) and Gen3B (2015-2017). Even though both share many chassis and body components, the engines, electrical and entertainment systems are very different.
The Sync firmware updates for both 3A and 3B did not require a license code, but the map updates always did.
If you need any info from a 2011, I have both the truck and all my documentation.
