I just found this site a few days ago and have already found out lots of useful information. I bought a sure drain valve from fram and just installed a few hours ago. I have always used castrol motor oil , i guess the commercials with the scientist running the motor without oil sold me. It seems alot of people here run synthetic, as for me ive always changed oil to synthetic only before a long trip. What do you'll think of the sure drain and reg. castrol oil.

I use the Sure Drain myself. It certainly helps, but is kinda slow. I think I will be switching to:

http://www.fumotovalve.com/

I had this type on my previous trucks, and it work really well in terms of speed of the oil change (the reason I did not put it on the Exby 2 years ago was that nobody could tell me the thread size to ask for! I know now though)

As for the regular Castrol, it kept my previous truch running well, and I let loose of it after 245k miles. But these days, the synthetics are simply a better product, so I can't see a reason NOT to use them.

BTW - I just replaced every fluid in the Exby with synthetics...yep all. Brake Fluid, Power Steering, Front/Rear Diffs, transfer case and transmission. Runs smoooooooooth.......

As I said, I have not replaced it yet, but the link I gave is for the OEM. Where you should buy the product is from:

www.performanceproducts.com

Item #5432 ('97-'03 ) for $19.95, which is cheaper than from the OEM.

WTF, I'm ordering it today!!!
