I have a pretty steady leak on the front drivers CV shaft where it slides into the differential. No one at Orileys was able to help find the correct seal. Advance auto and Autozone websites are both being helpful. Anyway I think I might need ford part number 7L1Z-4A109-D axle repair. Can anyone clarify if this is what I need? I can not find any specs on this as far as size goes. I can see it comes with the axle clip so I might be on the right path.

Thanks

You may have luck checking rockauto.com. They're far more informative than most sites and will often give you the exact part numbers.

I had to visit the ford dealer today. 7L1Z-4A109-D Is the correct part number for that seal if anyone else ever needs it.

I looked at that exact seal at the store. The one piece redesign had me all thrown off. First I didn’t realize it switched from a two piece seal to a one piece seal. Than I didn’t realize the new one piece seal should have to have a smaller bore hole. So the seal I pulled did not match the one the guy was showing me.
Knocked the second part of the old seal off the cv shaft and I was in business.
