I would like to find a replacement front bumper or even brush guard that you can mount a winch to. I have found one ccomplete replacement bumper with winch mount but they are asking $2100. Its a very nice front bumper even though a bit bulky but also not looking to spend that much on it either. Anything out there anyone has seen?

Thanks

Hi Jason, there are a few like ARB but they're heavy, will cost continually in gas $.

You can have a Brush Guard or Grill Guard and not have the weight of a winch with you at all time.

I bought a Curt receiver and use the winch on cradle for both the back and the front. A 12k winch plus receiver plus BG plus welding cable will cost you far less than $2100 and give you a flexible lightweight option.

The receiver mounts directly to the frame rails, I have pics posted you can view that shows up close.

The receiver stays on and the cradle fits in to it and secured with a pic.

What is the best way to add a winch to the front of my Expy? i have only found one front bumper and it costs $2100, yehhh forget that. But i have looked at a couple of what they call carriers that look like they attach to maybe a brush guard or something. by looking at pictures im not quite sure how they attach. Any ideas of the best way of going about this? thanks for any input ( i think i posted this before on the temp mobil site b4 it went down, cant find post now)

One alternative is to get a front receiver hitch and then the receiver carrier bracket for the winch to plug in. Not the same coolness factor of having a permanently mounted hitch behind a front bumper, but more versatile in that it allows you to switch it to the rear hitch or remove it altogether.
That is the route I'm going to take.

Curt manufacturing sells a Front Mount receiver for our trucks. It's like $250 I think. Then you get a winch carrier that fits a 2" receiver and handles so you can move it from front to back.
Then you also buy one of those hitch mounted racks and build a sweet tailgating set up with a grill and a keg. ;)

Without some extensive modification, I would assume they wouldn't work together. I didn't realize you had one. I guess you could weld a chunk of two inch (ID) square pipe to your brush guard to act as a receiver tube and still be able to use a "receiver mounted" winch.
