So, yesterday I replaced the gear oil in the front and rear diffs, did a trans filter service, and replaced the trans fluid in the transfer case.. That front differential is really not designed to be serviced is it? It has only a fill plug and even with my smallest tube on my oil extractor I could only get about half the gear oil out of it because the tube couldn't get down to the bottom of the housing. You can't remove the front cover unless you want to drop the steering rack. Major bummer.

In the words of the cartoon Super chicken, you knew the job was difficult when you took it Fred! It never ceases to amaze me how difficult the engineers make these vehicles. See they never have to wrench on them, just design and build!

Yep, one of the simplest maintenance items is now a major PITA. Next time I may just drill a hole in the bottom of the diff cover and put in a self tapping drain plug.
