i never had heat in mine. and its cold here in kentucky so i had to get it fixed so i took it to a shop and had a power flush done. aand the said the expeditions have a restrictor in the heater hoses. so they took it out and now i have heat.

I think the restricter was put in the heater hose in order to save the heater core from premature failure, which happened quite often on several early and previous Ford models, even late 90 model Fords, that restricter is actually there for a very good reason. Glad it fixed your current issue, but you may have a bigger, more expensive fix down the road. I think the dealers charge right at a grand to replace the heater core, $30 part, whole dash has to be removed though.

they put it in there to restrict how much antifreeze goes into there. and when i had mine removed the put a adapter in there. but if minew breakes i will just replace it myself i can pull a dash.

I just figured I would let you know what I had researched, alot of folks do not know about that restricter and the reason it was put in.

I had the same problem. Shop quoted me $2200 to pull the dash to get to the blend door and actuator behind the radio.
I took a shot and fixed it for free.

double check to see if your cruise control works. If it doesn't. Check fuse #5 (at least it is 5 on my 98). Not the fuses in the engine compartment. The fuses under the left hand side of dash.

At least in 98's, that fuse runs the front actuator and the cruise. Fixed in a jiffy.

If that doesn't work, and it is a blend door, don't pull the dash. Use a Dremmel and cut out the fire wall behind the glove box. Door should be on the left hand side of the fire wall.
