Fuel Door Position

My fuel door isn't flush with the body. Is it suppose to be like this?

No, not normal. I'd be very concerned about water/debris ingress getting into the tank till fixed. For now you may want to consider adding something in place of where a gas cap would go, just to cover it (even if just a rag).

My 2015 has the cap less fuel system also, but the fuel door fits fine.

When I bought mine, I also bought a keyed, fuel filler neck locking plug from the dealer parts department (Ford accessory part) that I use.

You may want to see if Ford offers one for your year, which would ensure the filler neck is covered properly, until the door is fixed.

As to your problem, a body shop guy may be able to "tweak" it back into line or if you are brave--yourself. But you are on your own as far as researching that and not turning it into a taco...

Aren't they plastic? I could be way off and I'm not outside with mine right now but I thought I remember the door being painted plastic. You might be able to pop it outward, and yeah if its concave for some reason it would definitely cause the outer edges to be more outward. I might try grasping 2 of the 4 edges (or get a helper to hold all four, or maybe even try two corners) and press with your fingers towards you from the back. Doesn't explain why/how it happened, but just do a little pressure. Or, if it's under warranty see if it can get replaced, but they may tell you its due to misuse or damage.

I wonder if someone tried pressing on it real hard to see if it would release, to steal some fuel or something.
