fuel pump shut off switch bad??

So here I am again!! I was wondering if that stalling problem I have (still!!!) might be the fuel pump shut off switch going bad or something?? What do you think? After she died on me today again without any warning and of course starting back again with no problem, I called my dad (again!!!) and he was like " I don't know anymore, may be that fuel pump collision switch is just messing up" Well I have no idea either. I'm holding on any suggestions anyone gives me. I'm mentally drained. No joke.
And another thing. Is it normal that if engine is off "low oil pressure" shows on a message display?? I've always saw it but assumed that if car is not running it's only logical that oil pressure is low.

highly doubt it it either works or it doesn't

access it and try pushing the button down on it

you may have a fuel pump relay acting up but I don't think its the inertia switch

I would agree with Big Brian,

Going back to your previous threads on this problem

Did you ever install the jumper that was explained to you?

How many miles on the expy now?

Yes you will get a low oil pressure warning if the engine isn't running and the key is in the run position The warning should clear once the engine is started

Yes we have replaced fuel pump relay. My husband even made a bypass from ac vent to fuse box to keep it cool all the time. Alternator charges 14.30 with running ac and lights on. Engine sounds like a purring cat. It is some kind of short or something that makes pcm shut down the whole system. Miles and miles of cables to check...

May not have anything to do with the fuel system. Could be ignition or some other kind of electrical issue. You will need to verify if you have fuel pressure next time it happens to rule that out at least.

Not an easy situation, that's for sure

I also noticed the transmission starts to act up as well. Down shifting is hard for her. Example. i'm driving on the highway let's say 80 mph and I'm taking exit to access road , so i let go of the gas and let her roll on her own until I need to accelerate back up again, and then when she downshifts she will jerk pretty bad.
One time even my husband was like " holy mother I think you lost your transmission somewhere back there!!" I checked the fluid and it's pink no smell to it , but again transmission has almost 200k on it. I think as much as I hate to admit this it is time to slowly start saying goodbye to her ;(

Soooo.... I have another question. I know I'm such a pain today morning when I started her "check charging system" came out 3 times and went away every time I accelerated a little. Like I mentioned before alternator charges just fine, belts don't make any noise... I'm wondering if all of that is related to stalling. I went do the Dr about 30 mile drive and she did great....

Have you checked the basics?

Is the battery in good condition? Is the battery terminal connectors clean and tight (don't just look at them and assume they are okay)? If not, remove the connectors and clean them with a battery terminal brush tool - and clean the battery terminal posts.

The battery is new around 6 months old, put back two months ago. Everything looks clean and solid there. My hubby installed himself so I believe I can trust him on that... It's not the first time this is happening tho. Im just trying to connect the dots to be honest. All this time we were positive it was a relay and it was!!! But now... I don't know anymore... So far she is doing great but we r planning on a big trip to Dubai in 3 weeks and I'm super anxious. Anyhow... We keep looking, keep touching, keep cursing her out until I hope we will find the cause.

just because it "looks clean and solid" doesn't mean it is

I would remove all the terminals from the battery posts and clean all contact surfaces until they are shiny bright

may not be the problem but then you can rule that out for certain

I don't know your full history but I had a problem with my 03 Expedition stalling sometimes. Sometimes it would start again in minutes, other times not. It was definitely fuel related and I had the fuel pump replaced but that didn't resolve the problem. After reading, I jumped the fuel pump relay and usually that worked so I replaced the fuse box which has the fuel pump relay. But I still had the problem. Turned out it was the connector to the inertial shutoff switch in the back of the truck. The connector had worn and would short with bumps. The switch itself was fine, it was just the connector. I'd check that...

What your describing could be simple as a loose battery terminal. I seen a company vehicle get towed, only to find out battery terminal was loose.

Thanks for info. That what i was thinking too. This weekend we will be working on her roof since I have a literally a big rusty hole in it. Thank God here in the middle east doesn't rain ;)) I will tell my hubby to look into it as well... And We did replace fuel pump and fuel relay (and yes relay was melted so we thought that was the problem, obviously not...) The only problem is that she doesn't choke before dying(which I would assume goes with cutting off fuel, and she starts right back like nothing happen) , she just dies no sound no sign nothing, i just know cause I loose steering power and messenger box come on with that annoying BEEP I'm so scared of it now... It's like hunting me down in my dreams BEEP BEEP.... lol But we will def. look into this as well.... and might as well buy new connector to the battery why not.

Have you checked if you have a wire resting on a silver/aluminum tube (its an AC pipe) right next to the battery? For me I flipped the wire over where it is touching this pipe, you will find the wire is rubbed down to the bare metal!!! It is randomly shorting out the engine and you will STALL. I wrapped it in black tape and zip tied it out of the way and have not had a stale since.

Come to think of it I also had the Battery Charging message too and since this tape job that has not reappeared. I was originally told that the Battery Charging error was due to installing a non-Motorcraft alternator but I am not sure about that.

Soooo... Check charging system confronted... Today she died after couple of messages came up... It turned out it was alternator wire assembly that is bad. I was able to jump her (luckily she died by battery shop) and when i wiggle the wire she went from alternator to battery only and died . So now we r waiting till Saturday to order that from the dealer... Seems line never-ending story i swear... but hey by the end of the road i will turn to be an expert lol
