so Im going to need tires prolly by winter, Im between the BFGOODRICH all terrain or the goodyear Wrangler Dura Trac. which tires you guys think will look better on my truck along with perform better? the size i will be going with is 285/70/R17 seeing as Im told 305/70/R17 will rub at the stock height. I also dont want to have to re-calibrate my speedometer and change the gearing.

do the TC and spacer and get the bigger tires. haha but i like the duratracs personaly. they are what you would call, "winter tires". the only thing i dont like about the bfgs in the snow and wet is the lack or water channels. sipping is good, but water channels rnt that good.

Are those your own only options? I just picked up a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers and have used them in the snow and they work great....Just my 2 cents....

I like My Pro Comp X AT but I know guys that run Mickey ATZ all winter and love them:shrug:
You don't have to gear unless you go over 35" and even then I don't think Walnuts did it?
As for speedo it's not off by much for slightly bigger or if do go big get an Edge fixes the problem and it a fun toy!!

yea i saw the general grabber im kinda leaning more towards the wranglers though, procomp cost too much and i have heard alot of bad about nitto tires. One of the things i like more about the goodyear wranglers are the sidewall design. im sticking with the wranglers or bfgs mainly cause of the price, pricing is very similar on the two, just trying to find out which has a better value like for traction and how long they last.

I've got a set of Definity Dakota AT on my truck. They are only sold through Pepboys but are made by Cooper. I love them and they are a real bargain. No complaints from me.

no your thinking about those cheap ass walmart good year tires. those suck in the dirt and on the road. hear nothing but bad things from them. but the next tires i think i would have gotten were the good years. but in a few weeks if that deal for the bfgs im gonna go get them.

If your close wait till Bloomsburg and get a good deal on tires there....at least I though the prices where good. Thats where I basically built my truck:pepper:

hell no to retreads, i like the design of the wranglers by me most tire shops carry them, Im only going to go with one of two tires either the wranglers or the all terrains, around here in chicago nitto cooper and general tire are not that popular and if you want them they will order them but it costs alot more then, reason i dont want to order offline is im going to have a tire shop test fit the widest tire possible for my truck and go from their, i want wide but i dont want them to rub

285/70/17 is probably the widest you can go without rubbing if you are using those stock wheels, no lift, and no trimming.

well if choice is duratracs or BFGs... I'm gonna say go with the greatest tire ever... BFG

hahahaha no offense but bfg's get shredded by the rocks out here i ran them and i like em in the sand etc. but wranglers are the shurest bet to get home if you play in rocks/boulders like we do. my buddy got a set of those general grabbers or whatever they are i gotta ask to find out for sure but its generals mud terrains and he seems impressed so far. but i am thinkin bout nitto terra grapplers for my expy cause i have two broncos now so all the expy will really be seeing is rain snow ice etc
