Have a 07 expy eddie w/ the advanced trac system. 165k miles. It does have a leveling kit with bigger 285/70/r17 tires on factory wheels
Through troubleshooting another issue, I reset the ECM by draining the capacitors and doing a re-learn. The steering wheel has always shaked a little when hitting bumps, but now it was like it’s got a couple of degrees of slop. Also, the ABS and TC lights will come on intermittently and go off (has also been doing this the whole time).
2 days ago through a bi-directional scan tool w/ a ford program, I was able to view the ABS live data and saw it wasn’t reading the steering wheel angles accurately. There was an option to initialize the Inner Vehicle Dynamics/Advance Trac, so did that. Steering instantly felt better, still a little shake over bumps, but it at least didn’t feel like it wanted to jump into the other lane.
Today the ABS and TC lights came back on and turned off again, and back to white knuckling it, but still to a lesser degree. There is a pending ABS code (C1095-20, pump motor circuit fault) but no stored codes.
I’ve checked all the mechanical components I can think of (tie rods and bushings, wheel speed sensors, abs pump, no leaks in rack and pinion, no play in steering shaft). Also checked the 2 60a ABS fuses and they’re good.
My thought is to replace the Steering Angle Sensor, thinking maybe it’s failing (like a cold solder or something) but not failed enough to throw a code. But wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue and/or has additional insight or thoughts.
