did you remove the sensor in the flexible part when trying to get it of the airintake, you could have damaged the sensor otherwise.

I'm gonna do the mods also on my 1998 5.4 EB in combination with a true dual 2.5" stainless

I did this mod a few years ago and don't even remember if it helped or not. I haven't had any problems with it though.

Come on nvycrmn..... Everyones doing it.... Lol its def worth the 13 dollars and easily reversible if u dont like it.... Dont think that will be the case...... Just take ur time and make sure to shape the pvc with a file or dremel.... That was the most time consuming part for me.....

I drove about 3 miles today and I can positively say I felt a quicker throttle response. I did not lay into it, but its noticeable.

I looked at my intake last night on my 05 and I don't see any place that looks like a bottle neck for the air flow. I guess I'll keep it stock.

i completely agree i did this mod the other morning and it really is as easy as everyone says it is. the difference is definately noticeable and without a question worth it for the $15 price tag

I took a look under the hood of my '05 the other day and it looks like it already has a 3 inch inlet. I guess ford fixed it by this model year. I did replace my stock air filter with the K&N though. Amazing what you get just by doing that. Nice responsiveness and better acceleration. I'm not lighting up the tires or anything but it's certainly noticeable.

Just a quick update, I have noticed a drastic improvement of throttle response and pick up. Ive had more "seat time" as of today and I am extremely pleased with the Motts

i have increased my mpg. about 1. not bad for $15. i like how so many people are doing it now. such an easy mod with so little money and time. but a belt sander helps some times too.

after grinding the pvc down to fit and all that jazz, i noticed that when it was on the stock airbox, the pvc was actually thicker than the snout, so I said to hell with it and pulled hte PVC out of the coupler, cut a v into the coupler so that it would fit into the fender without having a hump to mess up air flow and called it good.i did mine for 6.50!
