well I tackled the infamous spark plug change at 160000 on the truck. do your self a favor and get the lisle tool and call it a day. break em and just go. don't try and baby them out. it don't work. you just prolong the agony. either they break or they don't.
I broke everyone.
do not get the tool that AutoZone has to offer. it uses the principle of gluing locktite to the porcelain and then some how pulls them out. never got the glue to stick once. even left it sitting over night. just... no... f that crap. just grab yourself the actual tool or an equal counter part from Napa.
but after 3 days and some choice words, I finished. would have been done sooner if I got the lisle tool in the first place.

I changed mine at 32k miles when I bought the truck, I replaced them for 2 reasons, 1. The previous owner neglected the truck a lot, and it had misfires. 2. I saw all the reports about plugs breaking. I just wanted to get those original ones out ASAP and put the updated ones in with a thin coat of anti seize, just to make sure I didn't have to deal with that later. That, and I replaced all boots, knock sensors and gaskets on intake, curing my misfire issue.. :)
