I'm amazed at the varied threads and the different perspectives of the next Gen Expy. I know the new gen is a better truck in many ways from the improved 3.5 with it's tougher bottom end to the now-available tech....I still wouldn't mind emergency braking on mine btw in case someone figures how to retrofit it<LOL>.

What I'm also surprised at is the number or different "issues" & apparent conflicts in the software with the new gen. Just scanning the titles over the last two pages of this folder reveal several issues, nearly all centered around the tech, not the truck itself.

Is this "normal" for a new issue?

I can say that the size of my Navigator manual is about the same size as a hymn book and most of it covers tech stuff. Lots of wires, plugs, sensors, cameras, and who knows what else. I will add that two of these tech issue titles you refer too are mine, one was nothing because I just didn’t know how something worked and the other was never solved or repeated and Lincoln asked that I delete and reinstall the app as they think it was a problem with the app.

This is normal for anything mass-manufactured. Were you on any forums when they iPhone 4 came out, or the iPhone 6, or any Apple product after a major design change? There's always a few defects. They will get fewer and further between as the years go on and they refine the new processes they are using and the tooling is perfected, etc.

This is the exact reason many people swear off buying the first year of a new generation. The first run is bound to have issues the subsequent runs won't, be it a $1000 iPhone or an $80,000 vehicle.

i think the number is vastly over rated. we see a few here, but i imagine overall its very small.
the systems in the new expy are not new to ford and have worked very well in the 150 and other platforms.
i bet most are simple ghosts in the machine
i have had my 16 almost two full years and 20k miles.
ZERO warranty issues, the a/c problem was driver induced not a ford problem.
we have terrible roads so everything gets bounced to heck and back.
i am very pleased overalll. now that being said...if there was a KR edition NOW...i would trade.

We haven’t seen any major issues as far as I can tell, all I’ve heard are software annoyances and one user had a stitching problem, id say they are having a good launch thus far

The other thing to remember is you don’t hear about the majority of people who are having a lovely time in their new vehicle with no problems whatsoever.

Problems you hear about, generally speaking, are a loud minority.

Agreed Dewey but isn't that one of the reasons we join or at least, visit a particular forum? Yes, the "problems" are always the first to be listed but it's A FANTASTIC way to find out what the general issues are with a car or truck! I joined the SLK forum after learning the only issue seemed to be a MAF that would need replacing. There were no other issues that came up over and over. So I bought the car.....192,000 miles later.....I still have the original MAF<LOL>, mine never went bad!!
