Heat/AC controller panel lights out

Hello everyone -
Wondering if anyone has experienced any of the lights being out in the AC/Heat conroller. On the display I only have two lights shining. Curious if this is something I can repair myself or if the unit is even possible to get into to address the lights. (outside of a shop eviroment). Thanks in advance.

2000 Expedition 2WD
EB edition w/5.4 V8.

The service manual doesn't show the illumination for the EATC. I would imagine that they used leds or little bulbs like the 194 mini.

Feel like blazing new trails and opening yours up and posting some pics?

Absolutely up for the task - Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

Will keep a log when I start with pics. Hopefully its possible and it helps someone else down the road.
