Just curious if there is any way to get the heated seats to turn on automatically when I remote start the truck with the regular factory remote start? Not a huge deal the heat turns on and it gets the cab warm but the climate control seats obviously don’t come on unless I hit the button after I get in. Would be super cool to walk out to a pre heated seat on the cold winter mornings. Anyone sell a gizmo for this deal? I’d assume it’s the same on the 09-14 F-150 as mine since the controls look similar. 2007 EL Eddie Bauer w/ convenience pack.

had the same thought a while back ... drafted a conceptual diagram using one of those ebay temp control modules W1401.

it's definitely not a plug-n-play gizmo and more importantly NOT TESTED :)

In my diagram, the relay is only triggered by a "switched" ground output from the remote starter ... The module will only output power when the temperatures parameters set by the user are detected.

So looks like it’s not that easy then and requires modification. Ah well was just a thought.

Ok. Thinking outside the box. Probably stupid idea. What would happen if before you left the vehicle the night before (after shutting it off) ... You could depress the button and have it stay that way? Put some tape on it or weight or a toothpick or ???
When the vehicle starts up the heated seat turns on.
** Tried it, doesn't work. Momentary switch I guess.

I have a car 12V heating pad. I wonder if there's some way to put that on the seat and have it power up when the Expy does? I'm sure it could be wired into a circuit only powered when Expy is running.

It would be fairly difficult to do this. The seats are controlled by the CCSM which also receives data from the EATC. As far as I know there isnt direct connection to the heat unit itself as its all handled by MS-CAN which is why these modules have to be hooked up to a programmer to setup and calibrate or whatever when replacing. I dug around all data at diagrams a bit...only had a few minutes but didnt see any easy solution to this.

The only thing I could think of that might work is if you had an aftermarket remote start that could have a programmable output configures to trigger a relay to distribute power. Along with that you'd have to remove connectivity of the CCSM and its power input and run power direct to the seat heater since you can't just dump raw current through the existing setup to make it work without damaging the CCSM. I suppose you could probably diode isolate but you'd need some big guys to handle handle current and they get pretty warm plus theres not apt of space down there as it is with everything moving and the like. To make it more difficult youd also need to be able to control temp and need another thermostat so that you dont burn up the TEC module that's in the seat base. I'm imagining at this point a custom Arduino setup might be easier/reliable. I'm sure it could be done but would be considerable effort, likely far more than it takes to just click the button when you hop in your already warm vehicle and be patient for the seats

I understand the desire for this I had a buick in the past that was wired up to trigger the seats w remote start and it was a wonderful ability to have but it was a much more conventional circuit without the modules and all.

Funny that my 2017 has a setting in the instrument cluster where you can tell it to set the Climate Seats to "Auto" on remote start. Yet, they never come on! I have not had them activate even one time since I've had this truck (18 months now). In contrast, the heated seats in our '18 come on whenever you use remote start and it's even slightly chilly out.

I second that .. in my 16Limited, despite the heated seats set to auto with remote start in the IPC, they never come on during remote start.

I know my on my 15, my heated seats do turn on during the remote start. No lights are on the climate stack however the seats are soft and warm vs being stiff and cold. Its my first winter with it so I will keep an eye on when it comes on. My remote start is just set to auto for pretty much all the climate settings.
