Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone has found a solution for leveling the ride height on the 2nd Gen's equipped with the spring/strut setup when towing?

In my case, I use a 20ft enclosed trailer loaded with car, spare rims and tires, tools etc, and the sag on the back of the truck is pretty significant. I'm not sure what the tongue weight is, but I do keep almost all the weight over the axles and towards the back, so it is as little as it can be.

I'm going to pick up a weight distribution hitch to help level the load, but is there ANYTHING out there that we could use? because of the multi-link suspension in the rear and the spring/strut setup, none of the air springs, rubbers bushings etc will work. I've found super expensive air ride height kits that cost over $1,000, but that is unrealistic for me..

Anyone know of any cheaper ways to level the truck out? Stiffer springs from another vehicle or something?

Either you tongue weight is more than you think or maybe the springs are wore out. You might try replacing them or adding the rear end part of a 3/2 lift.

Either your springs are worn out or you don't have the weight distribution you think. If you absolutely must have a leveling system then consider trading for an expy or navi that has the air springs. Or just go all out and get an Excursion and never have issues towing again lol.

You do know the tongue weight on a 20 foot enclosed is going to be fairly significant. It not like a little 4x8 trailer. Get the weight distribution arms and look at doing a load helper air bag system.

No. That trailer pic was when I first bought my truck. I bought the truck and trailer within the same month lol

Thank you for all the recommendations guys.

My springs my just be worn... I'm not bottoming out at all, but I feel like my headlights are pointing upwards down the highway when towing. There's definitely a decent compression on the rear springs - but not enough to bottom out even when hitting imperfections on the road...

I have hauled my mustangs behind my 03 with several different trailers. I always had the squat until I started using load leveling on the trailers. I thinks it will solve allot of your issue.
